Ministry of fisheries and livestock permanent secretary Dr. David Shamulenge is saddened at the delayed veterinary camp house in kanongo ward of Kasempa district in north western province.
Dr. Shamulenge expressed concern over the construction of the kanongo vet house that was started way back in the year 2012 and is still not completed owing to the contractor abandoning the project.
He was speaking in kanongo area when he made a spot check on the development of the project.
Dr. Shamulenge further described the move as a fraud as the contractor was paid almost 90 percent of the money yet the people of kanongo cannot enjoy the services of veterinary assistants.
He has since instructed the provincial fisheries and livestock coordinating office to make follow ups on the issue and summon the contractor of the project.
Dr. Shamulenge implored on local contractors to do their work diligently as government can not afford to always give projects to foreigners as president Edgar Lungu wants to empower the local contractors.
He also challenged civil servants to take a paradigm shift and become more responsible and patriotic and move the country towards development regardless of were they come from.
