Govt to address challenges facing the fisheries and livestock sector

Fisheries and Livestock Minister MAKOZO CHIKOTE has assured farmers in the country that government will address the challenges facing the fisheries and livestock sector.
Mr. CHIKOTE says government under the leadership of President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is giving maximum support to the fisheries and livestock sector for it to contribute to the country’s gross domestic product.
He says his ministry will complete and operationalize all the infrastructure projects that have stalled in all parts country.
Mr. CHIKOTE says government has prioritized extension service delivery, disease control and market access among other thing to grow the sector.
The Minister says the current narrative of the ministry of Fisheries and Livestock will soon change to become an economic sector.
Mr. CHIKOTE was speaking in Siansowa in Sinazongwe district today when he was being welcomed to the district by Southern Province Minister CORNELIUS MWEETWA.
The Minister of Fisheries and Livestock was in Sinazongwe to launch the handover of boats, fish cages and a truck to beneficiaries under the Agriculture Productivity and Market Enhancement Project (APMEP).
